Restorations and Repair

Still have the original floor? A century-old tessellation rarely needs replacing. We lift and re-lay loose and drummy tiles, replace cracked ones with true matches, and treat the salt damage underneath.

Keep the original. Fix what has failed.

Your original tiles are part of the history of your home. A restoration is almost always possible, and usually costs far less than a full retile.

We deal with the causes underneath, not just the surface: failed bedding, salt attack and rising damp, so the repair lasts.

  • Drummy and loose tiles lifted, cleaned and re-set
  • Cracked or missing tiles replaced with period-accurate matches
  • Salt attack and rising damp treated at the source
  • Deep clean and regrout to bring the pattern back
  • Original tiles salvaged and reused wherever possible

Common questions

Good to know

Can you restore just part of a floor?

Yes. We can repair a section and blend it into the original, or restore an entire floor, whichever the floor needs.

What if the substrate has failed?

We remove and replace the failed bedding, treat any salt or damp, and re-lay on a sound base.

Will replacement tiles match the originals?

We source period-accurate replicas in the correct size, colour and finish so repairs disappear into the floor.

Ready to plan your floor?

Send a photo of the space or your plans. We will sketch a floor and give you a fixed quote, usually the same day.
